Lago Morto is a band conceived by Italian artist Nico Vascellari as a contribution to the exhibition Rock-Paper-Scissors curated by Diedrich Diederichsen at Kunsthaus Graz in 2009. Lago Morto is – in the curator’s words – “a social punk sculpture”, a way “to turn the model of the cast band upside down”.
The band, led by Nico Vascellari, toured for fifteen days in Vittorio Veneto, Italy in non-musical venues such as a bar, an osteria, a pizzeria, a laundrette, and a video store. The CD contains all fourteen songs the band has created. The DVD contains a video registration of each of the sixteen performances of the tour plus an extra video playing all sixteen performances simultaneously.
Also available from Sea Urchin: last available copies of Lago Morto’s Obitorio Veneto on vinyl.
