Serbian born poet, author, critic and correspondent Nina Zivancevic (1957) saw her first book published in 1982. In the two preceding years she worked as a secretary and assistant to Allen Ginsberg. CCC has now released on cassette an interview of Ginsberg by his former assistant recorded in New York in 1995 plus a selection of Zivancevic’s poetry, for the greater part accompanied by music.

So far Zivancevic has published more than twenty books – poetry and prose – and has translated numerous works into Serbian. In 1996 she was appointed an official Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian translator for the International Tribunal for War Crimes in the Hague. With a thesis on the work of Serbian author Milos Crnjanski she completed her PhD in Comparative Literature and Slavic Studies at Université Nancy 2 in 2001. She herself taught English Language and Literature at the Sorbonne and provided colleges at several other European universities. Nina Zivancevic, currently living in Paris, has received three awards and a grant for her outstanding literary achievements.
